how it all started

Inspired by the artisans community around, this small endeavour started out of a small village of West Bengal, India with the mission to support and empower the rural artisans, promote and preserve East India's traditional crafts & textiles, use of natural and sustainable fabric and make them accessible to the world.

naming the brand

We believe the most effective way to bring positive change into the world is by inspiring. The brand Anuprerna as the meaning suggests, wants to be the “source of inspiration” to earn love and respect for East India's craft and textile, a growing interest in social responsibility, use of natural and sustainable textiles, and share this incredible tradition with the world.

our design philosophy

We continuously develop new textiles using premium natural yarns of Cotton, Khadi, Linen, and Silks in diverse yarns, thread counts sourced from multiple states across India and weaved in numerous weaves, hues, techniques, and patterns by skilled artisans of Bengal, thereby bringing the best India presenting an authentic premium quality fairly developed textiles.

ETHICAL PRINCIPLES WE FOLLOW

Ensuring artisans earn a fair, living wage in safe working conditions
In 1918, Mahatma Gandhi initiated a movement promoting handspun and handwoven clothing, encouraging self-reliance. We aim to embrace his ideals by creating a self-sustaining, community-supporting business, offering fair wages to artisans to enhance their lives and inspire future generations to preserve this beautiful art form.

Caring for the Earth -

Artificial fabrics from plastic have a harmful impact, releasing microfibers when washed. Seafood consumers ingest 11,000 particles annually. To combat this, our eco-friendly natural fabrics are produced with a minimal carbon footprint, avoiding toxic chemicals.

Empowering artisans and culture

Fostering global recognition for these exquisite textiles, we aim to enrich the lives of skilled artisans. As this value spreads worldwide, it promises higher wages for weavers and serves as a beacon of inspiration for countless rural livelihoods within this sector.

COLLABORATION

Collaboration is an integral part of our brand vision of reviving these beautiful crafts & traditions.
