Bridging the distance between the world and the Artisan, we bring you a fascinating opportunity to experience the culture and indigenous craft of Bengal.


The art of hand-weaving in Bengal is an ancient craft running from times when fabrics were being exported to Roman and Chinese empires. The hot, humid indigenous climate inspired artisans to produce the most delicate and translucent fabrics.

Despite the economic and social challenges, weaving is still very much alive in Bengal and it is possible to walk the length of the village roads and hear the flying shuttles of handlooms as you pass each and every houses. But without global support that can appreciate the skills and crafts, these communities will eventually disappear assent generation of the weaver community seek to migrate to the cities in looking for better opportunities. Come walk with us for a personalised tour and have a memorable experience about all different kinds of Arts, Artisans and their Artefacts of Bengal.

Following a warm welcome at our workshop, enjoy a beautiful drive as you travel to the heart of the weaving communities.  Learn from the artisan families about their daily lives and the ancient art of weaving. Gain insight into fine muslin fabric weaving and the art of Jamdani techniques. Learn about the culture and history. Then, test your own weaving skills on a handloom machine An experienced person will work with you one on one to teach the basic techniques of weaving.

After the workshop, enjoy a lovingly prepared home-cooked meal. Your lunch will be hosted by a weaver in her own home (always close-by). If you want to expand your global culinary skills, you can select the earth-oven lunch option and work alongside women from the community to prepare a traditional lunch of your choice.
