Handwoven in pure cotton, this jamdani fabric pairs a deep black base with crisp white checks and subtle extra-weft motifs. At 70 GSM it feels light, cool, and comfortable on skin while offering a neat fall suited to everyday wear. The grid adds structure; the jamdani work brings craft character. Tailor refined shirts, dresses, kurtas, overlays, dupattas, and kidswear, or use as a contrast panel with solids. Minor slubs and weave variations are natural signs of small-batch artisan production and make each meter unique.
Jamdani's sheer structure and fine, floating motifs require gentle handling to maintain their form.
Washing:
-Dry cleaning is strongly recommended for longevity. If hand washing, use only cold water and a very mild soap.
Avoid:
-Do not rub the motif areas. Avoid harsh chemicals or bleach.
Drying:
-Do not wring. Gently roll in a clean towel to remove excess water. Hang or lay flat to dry in the shade.
Storage:
-Store folded, wrapped in breathable muslin or cotton cloth.

Being an admirer of rich Indian textiles, I am pleased that jamdani is being developed beyond the sari. Since I have now switched to kurtas, I bought this to tailor into a kurta and can visualise how elegant the gold dotted white jamdani will look.
