A Gesture to Create Awareness

Along with spreading awareness of these beautiful crafts to people worldwide, one of the primary visions is to empower and motivate our artisans as well to continue their crafts happily going forward.
A Token of Appreciation to Encourage Artisans

As a part of an initiative to empower and motivate our artisans, we are planning to share with them how their creation in a remote village in India gets transformed into something amazing and is being used by consumers in the furthest corner of the world. We want to frame a lovely image of the final products made by the fabric he/she has weaved and present them along with a Thank you message.

Capture The People & The Process

To enable our vision to share our artisanal crafts & stories with the world, it's very important to connect with consumers. For that, it's imperative to share the people behind these processes, the family, the community that's involved and the handmade eco-friendly techniques involved. Therefore, we love to capture these moments, embrace these emotions and share with you, and for you to in turn share the same with your consumers, colleagues and friends. PreOrder Any fabric products & we'll share all behind the scenes with you.

The whole process of weaving starts by preparing the yarn. The quantity of yarn needed is calculated and then sent for dyeing (Azo-free). Artisans Upen and Ashok make sure the dye is the right hue and the yarns are uniformly dyed.

Sabitri Dutta here is winding the dyed yarn onto bobbins on a Charkha. She is making sure the yarn is distributed uniformly on the pirn so that further operations run smoothly.

Here, yarn from the creel frame is being wound onto a huge drum in a process called warping. Sakkhi is preparing the drum which would be used to transfer the yarn to the weaver's beam.

All this is followed by drafting and denting where the yarns from the weaver's beam are drawn through the healed eye and the reed dents respectively.

Finally, with the loom set up, artisan Kashinath starts weaving the fabric on the handloom.
