CAPTURING THE PROCESSES

The whole process of weaving starts by preparing the yarn. The quantity of yarn needed is calculated and then sent for dyeing (Azo-free). Artisans Upen and Ashok make sure the dye is the right hue and the yarns are uniformly dyed.
Sabitri Dutta here is winding the dyed yarn onto bobbins on a Charkha. She is making sure the yarn is distributed uniformly on the pirn so that further operations run smoothly.
