This is a check pure cotton fabric in a red, blue & white colour scheme, handwoven on a jacquard handloom using a twill weave. Mediumweight and gentle, this textile is ideal for shirts, skirts, and trousers, as well as homeware like cushion covers or accessories like bags & pouches. Made of 100% natural material, it is sustainable and hypoallergenic.

The Handloom Jacquard is produced using a Jacquard machine attached to the traditional Handloom. The craft has seen a significant decline in recent years due to the use of powerlooms. Anuprerna is collaborating with Bengal weavers to revive the craft of Handloom Jacquard which is a more sustainable & ethical process. Anuprerna works with one Handloom Jacquard artisan cluster in West Bengal, India.

Wash all-natural fabrics by hand or by machine on a very gentle cold cycle, using ecological laundry products.

Please keep in mind that heat makes natural fabrics shrink a bit and that all fabrics get much softer after washing.

A nice smooth fabric in the right colour with a bit of lustre which I'll use for something, but not the textured "raw silk" tussah I was hoping for. It is more the weight of a cotton lawn.
