Artisan Clusters
Khadi is a term used for fabric that
has been handwoven using yarns made by hand spinning natural fibre which is
usually cotton but can also be silk or wool. Working with an array of different
Khadi yarn, which requires a lot of experience, expertise and patience, has
been a tradition for the artisans of Bengal.
Anuprerna, with a working relation of 35+ years since its
inception, have been involved with various expert Khadi artisans across Bengal.
We have been closely working with Khadi weavers in 9 clusters
spread across the districts of Burdwan, Birbhum and North 24 Parganas in West
Bengal.
Different clusters
are equipped with different weaving expertise needed for an array of handmade
textiles ranging from the thickest count to fine muslin Khadi.
