Warm, earthy, and quietly refined, this brown cotton dupion silk fabric is handwoven at 104 GSM for a light, breathable feel with an elevated finish. Cotton keeps it comfortable on skin, while dupion silk adds a subtle sheen and natural slub texture that gives the color depth and movement. It drapes cleanly and still holds structure for collars, panels, and tailored silhouettes, making it ideal for kurtas, blouses, dresses, co-ords, skirts, and light festive layers.
Elegant without being heavy. Dry clean recommended for best results; steam lightly from the reverse. Natural slubs and minor shade variation are part of authentic handloom character.
Washing:
-Use cold water and a few drops of a mild, pH-neutral detergent.
-Do not soak for long—silk weakens when left in water.
-Wash gently without rubbing or wringing.
Drying:
-Never wring or twist silk to remove water. Lay flat on a clean towel and roll to absorb moisture.
-Dry in shade, away from direct sunlight, which can cause fading. Avoid tumble dryers.
Ironing:
-Iron on low heat (silk setting) while still slightly damp. Place a thin cotton cloth between the iron and the fabric.
-Use steam lightly to remove wrinkles—avoid direct spray of water.
Storage:
-Wrap in muslin, avoid plastic covers.
-Keep in a cool, dry place. Refold periodically to prevent permanent creases.
