This plain grey cotton dupion silk fabric blends cotton comfort with the subtle sheen and slubbed character of dupion. Handwoven at 141 GSM, it has a steady hand and clean drape that feels elevated without becoming fussy. The surface shows natural dupion slubs and gentle texture, giving depth to the grey and making it ideal for minimal, tailored silhouettes. Use it for dresses, kurtas, co-ords, blouses, shirts, skirts, stoles, and light festive layers.
It holds structure for collars and panels while staying breathable on skin. Pre-wash only if advised for silk blends; dry clean recommended for best finish. Natural variations are part of handloom charm.
Washing:
-Use cold water and a few drops of a mild, pH-neutral detergent.
-Do not soak for long—silk weakens when left in water.
-Wash gently without rubbing or wringing.
Drying:
-Never wring or twist silk to remove water. Lay flat on a clean towel and roll to absorb moisture.
-Dry in shade, away from direct sunlight, which can cause fading. Avoid tumble dryers.
Ironing:
-Iron on low heat (silk setting) while still slightly damp. Place a thin cotton cloth between the iron and the fabric.
-Use steam lightly to remove wrinkles—avoid direct spray of water.
Storage:
-Wrap in muslin, avoid plastic covers.
-Keep in a cool, dry place. Refold periodically to prevent permanent creases.
