THE JOURNEY OF AN ECO PRINT
FABRIC PREPARATION
The fabric is first thoroughly scoured to remove natural oils, dust, and finishing chemicals. Clean fabric allows botanical pigments to transfer more effectively.


MORDANTING
Before printing, the fabric is treated with natural or mineral mordants such as alum, iron, or tannin-rich plant extracts. Mordants help bind the natural pigments to the fibre while also influencing the final colours produced.
BOTANICAL ARRANGEMENT

BUNDLING
Once the botanical arrangement is complete, the fabric is carefully folded or rolled around a wooden dowel or metal rod and tightly secured with natural string or cotton thread. STEAMING
The tightly bound bundle is gently steamed for several hours, allowing heat and moisture to release the botanicals' natural pigments. During this process, the colours, shapes, and intricate vein patterns are permanently transferred onto the fabric, creating distinctive botanical impressions.


THE FINAL REVEAL
After steaming, the bundles are allowed to cool before being carefully opened. The fabric is then cured, gently washed, and dried naturally. This finishing process enhances colour stability while revealing the final botanical artwork.
